The Graduation that didn’t happen

When I was in Grade 6, we were already preparing for graduation. We even took our graduation pictorial, and everyone was very excited. I felt happy because I thought the big day was finally near. About two weeks later, we heard the news that classes were suspended for two weeks. At first, we were happy because we thought it was just a short break. We did not really know the reason behind it until we learned about the COVID-19 virus. The two-week suspension turned into a lockdown that lasted almost two years. Because of the long lockdown, we were not able to experience our Grade 6 graduation. I felt sad and disappointed, but I slowly learned to accept what happened. Even without the ceremony, I continued moving forward and stayed hopeful for the future.

Chosen Path

Dear Future Me, I hope you are doing well and still happy in life. Right now, I enjoy baking and it makes me feel calm and creative. I hope you are still baking and improving your skills in the future. Most of all, I am currently serving God and doing my best to stay faithful. I pray that when you read this, you are still serving Him with all your heart. I hope your faith has become stronger over time. Life may not always be easy, but I hope you continue to trust God and never give up on the things that matter to you. I am proud of you already. Keep going and stay faithful. Sincerely, Your Past Self
